Hi

Just wondering if any one knows how long the drops last that dilate the pupils? The leaflet says up to 24 hours - any parents out there have experience of this?
I really hope it’s not that long, it’s only been an hour and DS5 is unhappy 🙁

TIA

For ds the dilation normally last 12-18 hours but either he gets used to it or his vision returns to normal within a couple of hours.

Yes vision gets better after a couple of hours

But do try and keep him away from bright sunlight because its excruciating! Hard on a day like today though..

Thanks both!

All I’ve done for the last 2 months is pray for sun and now it’s here I want it to go away for his sake! 😂

How is he doing now @honeybae? Hope the worst has worn off!

He’s okay now 😊 I had him wear sunglasses inside for a while as he was super squinty but he seemed to get over the weird vision after a couple of hours!

Annoying thing is he’ll have to have it done again at the hospital because the optician thought he didn’t get the drops in his right eye but when we got home it was very obvious that he had!

Oh how annoying! At least you both know what to expect now and have something you can do to help him cope!
