3yo broken arm top tips needed

My 3yo DS has broken his arm and is in a heavy cast until Wednesday.
Can anyone offer advice on what we’ll need to make life easier for us and him?!

I’ve got a cushion for under his arm and I’m going to get some big T-shirts to fit over the cast. I’ve cut the arm off a PJ top for tonight.

Dr recommend sponge baths and alternating calpol and ibuprofen.
Any tips gratefully received Smile

My DS broke his elbow when he was 2 and we got a waterproof cast cover which was really a lifesaver, he had to stay in the plaster cast and couldn’t get the other type.

The first couple of days were the worst and it got better after that, I hope he’s not in too much pain Flowers

A backpack with a strap so you can stop him falling on it when you’re out for walks is good too.

Thank you @SpinMeRightRoundBabyRightRound
DS has the same injury so comforting to hear we should be over the worst soon.
Great idea about the cast cover! It was a bin bag when I was a kid Grin

It seems incredible but you can even go swimming with it, we weren’t that brave though, I was too scared of him slipping and landing on it again!

When he got the plaster off we had to give him calpol again for a couple of days and go easy on the arm for a couple of months and avoid falls. Which isn’t exactly easy that age so we kept him in the little life backpack as much as possible!
