Freaking out over a pre-op letter

So for the past couple of months my daughter has been under the care of ENT over suspected allergies (either asthma or hayfever). She’s had a lingering cough since the age of 2 (she is now 4). She also had what I thought was nasal polyps which turned out to be swollen turbinates. She’s had an overnight sleep study which come back fine and a blood test, which I never had the results back from. So today I received a “pre-op swabbing appointment” letter. Before her first ENT appointment she had to have a covid test which is standard practice nowadays. But what about the pre-op part? Baring in mind this is the only letter I’ve received, I haven’t received any letters about an operation? I haven’t even had her blood test results back. I’ve tried to phone them but I can’t get through. Someone shed some light please Confused
