Adenoid regrowth

DD, aged 4, had her tonsils and adenoids removed in Feb 2021 having struggled with severe obstructive breathing day and apnoea at night.

We had about 6 months where she was doing so well but then noticed the snoring at night returned, first occasional but now it is every night and the apnoeas have returned. She's sweaty and restless all night. She mouth breathes constantly.

In November we went back to the GP and have been referred back to ENT, however as we had been discharged it counts as a new referral. I phoned ENT yesterday, having heard nothing and they have said to expect a wait of up to a year. She was on a steroid nasal spray for three months but it made little difference.

DD is exhausted. It's affecting her behaviour. The only thing I can work out that may have happened is her adenoids have grown back. Has this happened to anyone else and could you tell me your experience with it?

We had similar with my son. We thought they had grown back so when he had his tonsils out they had a look and they had begun to grow back a bit so they just shaved them down a bit. No more problems since. Luckily it was pre covid so we didn't have a long wait
