Diarrhoea- how long?!

DD is 11 months and has had diarrhoea for five full days now. Otherwise well in herself, maybe eating less than usual but breastfeeding lots. No signs of dehydration.

GP says not to worry as long as she’s well in herself but I’m wondering how long this can possibly go on for?!

Give probiotics until she's better. Diarrhoea flushes out the good bacteria & can lead to more runny poos - it's a vicious circle.

@BlackSwan what probiotics can I give a baby? Thanks.

Breast milk is full of probiotics tailored to the needs of your baby. BM also a laxative (remember her pre weaning poo) so it may make it seem worse although BM is not making it worse.

@Duracellbunnywannabe I did wonder that, although her appetite for solids seems to have improved over the last day.
