Tuesday 1st - started with cold symptoms and a cough

Wednesday 2nd - cough worsened

Thursday 3rd - high temp started, in the 38s

Friday 4th - woke feeling ok then went downhill in the afternoon. Temp up to 39 and getting tummy ache, not eating properly

Saturday 5th - woke with temp of 40.1, went down to 39 with Calpol. Tummy ache and cough, still need eating. Seen at Out of Hours who advised it was a viral infection

Sunday 6th - high temp of 40, tummy ache, not eating much, not drinking or weeing much. Seen again at Out of Hours, doctor said she had swollen lymph nodes but still thought viral infection. He advised us to get her seen every 2 days until her temp is back to normal

Monday 7th - woke feeling much better, temp back down to normal but still not eating well. Went back downhill in the afternoon - lethargic, temp of 40.6, saying she had a pain in her back

I'm really worried about her and obviously will take her back to the GP tomorrow as per the hospital doctor's advice.
But just wondered if anyone had any thoughts/advice as to why her temp would be so high for so long!?

@Dodie66

Has she had a covid test?
She hasn't but I doubt it's covid as she had that last month

You can get it more than once. I would do a test if I were you. Just to rule it out

Sounds like there is an infection lingering. Pain in her back could be lungs and if she's had a cold it could be a sign of silent pneumonia. I'd be taking her for a chest X-ray. How is she when walking or going up the stairs? A high temp for a week isn't normal. Take her a&e and get her thoroughly checked.
