Poo is stuck

KMBR2 · 05/03/2022 16:16

Sorry if TMI

My baby is 7mo.
For the past 2 days she has been trying to poo, since yesterday afternoon I can see her poo but it just will not come out.
She's pushing so hard bless her but it's just not budging.
Can anyone recommend how I can help her to pass this please!?
TIA Smile

Natural option would be apple juice but obviously you need to be careful with too much.

You could ask pharmacy for lactulose?

Prunes?

Ella's kitchen prunes and a baby seat that has a vibrate setting always helped my dd when she was constipated

I second the prunes, plus drinking lots of water.

I know a warm bath works for some babies too… 🤢 Worth a try if desperate!

Also, try getting her into a squatting position when you think she’s ready to go. It can help widen… yeah I’m gonna stop now. 😂

Good luck! Constipated babies are so hard to watch! You (and she!) have all my sympathies.

Have you ensured adequate liquids and sat her on the toilet? Gravity and the space they need sometimes that there isn’t in a nappy!

Go back to basics with cycling legs too.

Thank you all!
We'd just had a warm bath but no joy.
I saw your comments and gave her some prunes and they've done the job!
We'll half of it I think anyway bless her!
Poor girl it's horrible seeing them like that isn't it x
