Hi
I just fed my 6 week old and about 2 minutes after she vomited a huge amount. It was one bout of sick but there was an unbelievable amount that projectiled out. I did notice during the feed that she was dribbling her milk a lot (bottle fed) so i wonder if she could be ill??

I'm so worried

Is it normal for babies to sick so much?! She has projectile vomited twice before but never this much

Also I'll add that she sounds quite coldly and when she's breathing in it sounds like she has phlegm in her throat

Don't panic. My baby was sick like this numerous times a day every day. Could be wind or mucous if they've got a cold.

Just keep an eye out for temperature, weight gain, listlessness, not feeding.

Speak to HV or GP tomorrow if worried

It was normal for mine when he had a cold, as he had reflux. It's s total pain and very scary, but it stopped eventually.

As she's so little I would get her checked out by the GP tomorrow, but just wanted to reassure you that it was normal for us for a specific reason.

My little boy did this too! I was so shocked the first time it happened - I couldn’t believe the amount. I recall ringing the HV straight away and stating it was about 4 pints worth! Hilarious to look back on now as it was nowhere near that volume, but it seemed so much to me. And so out of the blue - I think he only ever did it randomly about 4 times. I would call your HV for reassurance but honestly, sounds totally normal to me.

My (now) 4 month old went through a stage (also around 6 week) of doing really alarming vomits. As someone with emetophobia whose first child did polite little possets as a baby it terrified me. It started when he had a cold and happened every 2-3 days for a few weeks and he just grew out of it. Either it was related to the cold or his digestive system just sorted itself out.

I remember thinking it was a huge amount but my friend told me they'd see a video where someone demonstrated how a relatively small amount of milk could look like pints and pints when thrown up.
