Balanitis?

Hi my son 18months has had a bad cold for over a week but today not sure is it is at all related.. his penis is swollen all over and red. Almost looks like it is blistered at the end and has a creamy discharge. Sorry for the gory details. He doesnt like you touching but seems to be peeing normally and not in pain when doing so.
His foreskin is really tight as in wont move at all. Going to phone Gp in morning but thinking this could be balanitis?
Anyone have similar experiences? Thanks

My son has had this a few times.

They will give him some cream and advised on cleaning etc.

One thing the G.P did say though is make sure he has a daily bath. And make it quite warm, not hot but hotter than recommended as this cleans any urine that gets trapped under the foreskin.

Since then we have had no problems.

If i miss a bath then he starts to get sore again.

DS had this when he was little, phoned 111 and they told me what cream to buy. It cleared up very quickly.

Is it normal at this age for the foreskin to be totally closed almost? I know ur not meant to force it back but his literally wont even move?

My son had this last summer. 111 recommended ibuprofen, a warm bath and a cream that I can’t remember but all of it was over the counter stuff. Given them a call. My DS was better in a day or two.

It's fine OP, my sons was like that and he had balanitis type issue twice at that age. He is 10 and all is absolutely fine. The foreskin was a bit tight but all OK now. What he had to be told was to ensure he wiped/dabbed after a wee....just a shake was not enough and caused it to be sore etc!

Ds had this, I can't remember the name of the cream but the doctor prescribed it, but it is available over the counter. Might have been caneston the first time and daktarin another time. Don't force the foreskin back, that happens naturally and could be as late as age 12.
