DD not eaten all week

DD (6) had a stomach bug on Monday, being sick all day couldn't keep water down.

She hasn't been sick since Monday evening but she also still hasn't eaten.

I called Drs yesterday and they weren't concerned...

But the last meal she ate which she actually kept down was Sunday evening!

If I offer her food she just says no, or will say yes but not eat it.

It's never taken her this long to get back to normal after a stomach bug!

Gosh that must be worrying.
If she's drinking and her stomach is OK can you give her high calorie milk shakes. I'd also give her ice cream, chocolate anything to get her eating, can you reason with her to get her to eat even just a mouthful little and often.
I'd call the doctors again today.

As long as she's taking fluids she'll be ok,that's only 4 days without food. Keep offering things like toast ,Rich Tea biscuits, small amounts so it's not overwhelming. Just put a plate down with her drink and leave her to it,don't talk about it beforehand. She'll eat again😊

I agree that's quite a long time but I think children are much more sensible than adults about eating after a bug. They don't feel they "should" eat something so they just eat when their body tells them they should.

I hope she's back at 100% soon OP, I can imagine you are worried

In a similar position with 5yr old DS. Was sick Monday evening several times. Temp of 38.6. Tried to eat Tuesday evening - came back up within an hr, tried to eat Wednesday - same thing - came back up within an hr. Hasn't tried to eat since. Has had water. Tried him with still isotonic drink (he normally jump at it as it's a treat) but he's only had a couple of sips and about 1/3 his normal amount of water. Planning on contacting 111 if he's no better tomorrow. Still had a temp last night.

Thanks for all replies.

I some what agree in that she will eat when she feels she needs too... just so worrying and so not like her!
She loves her food!!!

She might be worried she will be sick again if she eats. Try giving liquids with higher calorie content, gradually making them thicker

So long as she's drinking fluids don't worry.

I would make her a thin chicken broth with a few noodles floating in it, and perhaps a few crackers and work up from there. When she's feeling better she'll get her appetite back. If you push her it will backfire.
