What is this rash?

DS has these random spots over his torso, he suffered with mild eczema as a child but just small patches on his legs.
The one on his neck is the worst.
He’s a teen so have only just noticed as I don’t usually see his torso without a t shirt on.

Does it look like some kind of eczema or something else?

Possibly a mild case of pityriasis rosea, with the one on his neck being the mother spot? (Note: I have no medical experience whatsoever. I just chanced on this condition recently when DD had a skin complaint.)

Ignore my suggestion. It seems he would be ill with that.

I’ve just had a google and it does look like that kind of rash, he’s not long had covid so could’ve come around that time so I wouldn’t have noticed that he was ill.
I’m going to book a GP appointment tomorrow anyway as I was worried it might be ringworm

You're very welcome. I hope you get some answers from your GP.

Is it ringworm? One of the pictures looks like a dry circular rash with flat skin in the middle?

DSGR · 23/02/2022 19:58

Trip to GP?

extractorfactor · 23/02/2022 20:35

You find it easier and quicker to ask your pharmacist.

Lovemusic33 · 23/02/2022 20:41

My dd had something similar and it was a fungal infection similar to ringworm, the chemist gave us some anti fungal cream (similar to what’s used for athletes foot) and it cleared up after a few days.

I did speak to GP yesterday who confirmed it looks like ringworm (sent in photos) so has given some canestan, hopefully it clears up quickly!
