Itchy head

Ds is 2 and wakes ever night from an itchy head and neck.
I've never seen him scratch in the day.
But at night it's like he just can't stop... I'm laying next to him and can hear him scratching and scratching.
He does have a lot of hair so I'll try and get it cut this week.
Maybe he's allergic to shampoo...?? But why no itching in the day. So odd.

Are you sure it isn't head lice? They can be tiny! A nit comb from the pharmacy would help you find any.

I'm pretty sure but I'll check again tomorrow. It's so frustrating not being able to help him sleep.

Had the exact same with 7 year old a few years ago and he'd sit up in the middle of the night and scratch away. Best of luck and btw we used the white garnier shampoo (the oat one) to help sooth but he was older than 2 so you may need to check the age suitability.

Definitely check for lice. Use conditioner and comb it through with a nit comb and wipe the comb regularly on kitchen towel /loo roll. I find they are easy to miss unless you use this method

Thanks. I've been using cradle cap shampoo for newborns recently but made no difference

Could be an allergy to the bedding? Or the washing detergent.
