Chicken pox day 8 & vomiting?

My DD started with pox last Friday & has been isolating at home for 8 days. She’s been quite poorly with it, typical itching, minor fever, extremely tired. She’s been sleeping a lot. She’s woken up tonight vomiting & literally cannot seem to stop. She’s on about vomit 9 or 10 in just over an hour.. I’ve not seen her so poorly 💔

Bit baffled as she’s been isolating for 8 days. She does have a big sis in school & 2 weeks ago the entire household & a grandparent caught the school sick bug. Took a week to get us all over it & immediately pox. Big sis hasn’t been poorly this week, no current signs of another sick bug although it is still lingering around her classmates (we’ve got half term this week, so big sis has been in school last week). Could she have possibly passed a bug onto little sister despite no signs of illness herself?! Or is this some kinda pox reaction? She’s had the same food as big sister today, toast, fruit, cheese sandwich, veg sticks, crackers, sausage & mash, petit filous.. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I guess a sausage could have been dodge?!

Ahhh. This is horrible. We’ve had the shittiest run of illness. I’ve not slept properly in weeks 🤦🏼‍♀️ & my poor youngest, she can’t catch a break. I’m sat here in tears for her 💔

Does she have a high temp? My ds vomited several times when he had chicken pox, but the Dr thought it was due to his temp being 41 degrees. Has she been able to sip any water?

Only reading 37.9 currently.. earlier in pox she was kinda 38.5 but she’s been very much on the mend the past couple days. No fever. I checked on her about 10.30 & she was normal warmth. It’s come completely out the blue.

Water isn’t staying down, we keep trying a teaspoon but she just voms 😔

How is she doing today Zolla? I hope she's improved from last night.

She is much better thank you! She couldn’t stop vomiting for a couple hours but my husband managed to get her to sleep and that stopped it. I was so worried but experience has taught me that a fair few hours without water is OK & sometimes better to let their tummies settle. DD woke up demanding water & kept that down and other than tiredness & off her food, she’s been right as rain today, running round after big sis!

Still baffled as to what caused such a violent reaction given she’s been so isolated for over a week .. waiting with baited breath to see anyone else comes down with it in the next 24 hours or so or whether she maybe just ate something dodge 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm so glad she is feeling better today. I think sometimes kids can have what seem like odd reactions to illnesses, I think it could be linked to the chicken pox even though it seems so long after the onset of the illness. Hopefully noone else comes down with a stomach bug.
