Tomatoes & no sleep - allergy?

I was wondering if any other mum had experienced this.

Every time my 3 year old eats tomatoes or anything with tomatoes / tomato paste in it she doesn’t sleep.
Even the tiniest bit of tomato paste in the ingredient and she is up all night. If she stays in her bed we are up and down with her all night, she seems wide awake. If we bring her in our bed she still doesn’t sleep she just wriggles all night.

We cut it out of her diet completely, but nursery keep feeding it her. She comes home and tells me how she ate all her beans for dinner 🙄, then we are awake all night.

Could it be an allergy?

Tomatoes are high in histamines and in people who are sensitive to histamine this can cause sleep interference. Maybe give her an antihistamine on the days she eats tomato product and consider having her tested so the nursery won't feed it to her anymore in the face of a medical certificate.

Why haven't you told nursery she reacts to tomato?

I have…. And they keep giving it her. My frustration is building, so planning to pay privately to get her a sensitivity test, then I can give that to the nursery (if it shows something).
Just wanted to see if any other mums have had a similar issue, in case it isn’t actually an allergy.

This is so helpful, thank you! Definitely planning to get her tested!
