Weird eyes when doing mental arithmetic!

Okay. This is a weird one. DS (just turned 8) is inY2 (not UK) generally happy and healthy. Was born at 30 weeks but no ongoing issues. Is v good at maths generally. At school they've just started doing multiplication (concepts rather than learning times tables) and in the last week as DS is working out the answer in his head his eyes have gone cross-eyed. He's looking into space as he's doing the calculation and then his eyes just wander inwards if that makes sense. The first time it happened he actually remarked on it happening 'ooh my eyes just went funny'. It happened again today doing multiplications. Never ever seen him do it on any other occasions. No problems reading or writing. V neat, v good at drawing and copying pictures. Just this weird eye thing doing slightly more complex mental arithmetic. Anyone encountered something similar? Should I contact the GP?

Just go and have an eye exam. They’re free for children.
