My daughter's(age 7) UTI unfortunately came back after course of antibiotics. It manifests as very strong odour (almost like bathroom cleaner chemical+toilet) but no other symptoms.
Sample culture was positive for aerococcus urinae which GP said is rare type of UTI. GP is reluctant to prescribe strong third line antibiotics, he said he will check with consultant bacteriologist first.
While sampling + re-sampling+culture took 2 weeks, during this time we tried to enforce plenty of drinking and toilet habits and 2x day wash. Strong odour stubbornly didn't go away on its own.
My daughter is normally healthy otherwise.
I wonder if others went through similar?
