Hi All.
I have a 3 year 5 month old girl. I also suffer with Health Anxiety. She has fevers quite regularly- nearly every 4 weeks. She attends nursery 5 days a week so does pick a lot up from there. So my question is please tell me I'm not the only mother out there whose child can't go more than a month without a fever?! Also - when she gets a fever, she is fine (she currently has a temp of 38.2 after calpol and ibuprofen and is jumping around the bed singing 🤦🏻‍♀️) I know this is a good thing but surely she must be feeling poorly?!? Xx

With young children they don't put on a brave face - if she was feeling ill she would be quieter etc.

But if you are worried you could ask the HV for advice on whether this is normal for their age?

Mine gets a fever most times he gets a cold... plus other viruses. From August to Christmas he was ill literally every 2-3 weeks. Thankfully it seems to have calmed down now, he's only had one fever - which turned out to be Covid - since Christmas.

I think some people are just prone to fevers, I know I am. They do make me feel rubbish though. DS goes quiet when he's feverish but bounces back immediately.

Thank you! I have spoken to the Dr about and they weren't concerned, they said as long as she gets better in between the illnesses then it's fine. My Husband it so much more laid back about it - he says as long as she is playing and alert then she's fine but in all honesty he would never check her for a temp unless she wasn't bouncing around. Xx
