Red skin around lips

My child gets red skin around her lips
Not actually the lips it's around them, on the actual skin

Picture here

Has anyone had this?
What did you do?
We have put lip balm on in the past on the actual skin above and under the lips but it doesn't seem to be making it go away this time

That looks like sore lips from licking them. I looked like this through every winter as a child, as did my DH and now my DS does. Get some Vaseline lip salve and put it on before she goes to bed, so it has time to work before she licks it off!!

Dd gets this although not quite so sore looking, I’ve used coconut oil in the past which works quite well and give oranges a miss for a bit!

DS did this recently (3) he has a bad child and blocked nose which meant he was breathing through his mouth a lot and his lips were dry, it became habitual very very quickly. It's from licking.
The best thing we found was lansinoh like you use when breastfeeding. I put it on during the day but he mainly licked it off but was able to put a substantial layer on before bed, it promotes healing as well as being a barrier. It worked a treat.

My son had this. A sore bottom lip that wouldn't heal. Tried lots of things but O Keef's Overnight lip balm is amazing. Put it on the skin round his lips and it really improved it. Now use it morning as well as I think he must chew over his lips and then get chapped in the wind.

Thank you!
I will definitely try these

DS had this for ages and ages. I tried everything (all the suggetsions above) until a nurse I knew told me it was contact dermatitis and caused by an allergic reaction to something he was eating, which turned out to be either cheese and onion or sour cream and chives crisps.

As soon as we cut them out of his diet his lips got better. We also stopped using vaseline etc and instead put on a thin layer of weak steroid cream which cleared it up quickly.

Try cutting all processed food from her diet to see if her skin recovers.
