Chronic constipation

Just looking for a bit advice - my 6 yo girl is on 20ml picosulphate and 20ml lactulose. We’ve tried movicol but she will not tolerate it no matter how much we try.
She’s currently impacted, she had a enema on Saturday which did result in some movement but obviously she’s still blocked further up.
Even on the pico and lactulose she’s only pooing once every 3 days. GP won’t refer to Gastro team because it’s just idiopathic constipation. She’s been waiting assessment for Autism and is a very picky eater and doesn’t drink a lot either. I’ve tried so many ways to get her to drink more but it’s impossible. There’s some days she refuses all meds and she doesn’t even drink enough to be able to mix all the meds into her drink sneakily. Any advice? Not sure on the next step!

Hi, just seen this. How is your DD?

It might be worth joining Movicol Mummies on Facebook. I remember someone here recommending it. It's mostly Movicol/laxido but there will be people with knowledge of Pico/lactulose too and tips on hiding meds.

Have you been referred to the bladder and bowel team? They are the experts and sometimes have OTs in their team who could support with the sensory aspect
