3 year old is sick non stop

My nearly 3 year old boy has been in nursery for a year and three months now. I expected a flurry of illness in the first few months but thought it would have slowed by now. Even as a baby before being in nursery, I would have him in playgroups constantly to start getting used to bugs from other children. And it's not just him, it's then my partner and I that get struck down the following weeks after he's bought it home.

So here I am three years in and it's absolutely relentless. I'm freelance and struggling to maintain work bookings as I'm always needed to take time off. Absolutely terrified of a full time position as I recon I'd be fired within a month for lack of attendance. I'm exhausted.

Any ideas of when this all will ease up? He is a perfectly healthy boy in every other regard, so there's nothing underlying that could be influencing it all. I just really need to start working more now for financial reasons and I'm really not able to.

My partner helps when I have work bookings as much as possible, but he is the main breadwinner right now so mostly it's falling upon me to pick up the illness childcare.

Many thanks in advance!

I'd expect it to have settled by now. There's always lots of colds about but not severe enough to need time off nursery & work. If it's recurrent vomiting bugs I'd be concerned about the nursery.

Yes it's relentless, I think covid has made it all so much worse, so we're kind of in unprecedented bug times.
