It’s an ulcer

bigyellowTpot · 22/01/2022 12:53

I'd say ulcer they can be quite pain full though.

And how old is the child? I found both my daughter and myself both suffered with terrible mouth ulcers at the start of puberty. No idea why and it sounds strange but maybe it was triggered by hormonal changes.

Husband suffers from them. Son in pic is 8.5. I'm thinking he's genetically predisposed. This is his first one. MIL is telling me to use baking soda. Salt water earlier gave him some relief. I hope he's not in for a life of them. :(

Actually, husband tells me he doesn't get them anymore now. But he's no idea why they went away. I'll need to do a bit of research into prevention. Thanks for your help, ladies.

I'm in my 40s now but when I suffered with them at around age 12/13 there used to a treatment in a little bottle it was a brown liquid with a little brush similar to a nail varnish brush that you brushed on. it stung like hell on application but was brilliant and heeled them very quickly. I've no idea what it was called and i were unable to find it when my daughter was suffering with them so she just had to use bongela which isn't that great to be honest.
