Fine most of the day if a little tired, then fever at night!

Why is my son only getting a high temperature at night time. He seems pretty fine most of the day but this is the 4th night where he has woken around this time with a fever.
It goes down with ibuprofen, then he has the most ridiculously sweaty head.
Any ideas or is it just another virus rearing it's ugly head when it knows I want to sleep :(

How old is your little one? My advice is to record each temperature over the day and timing/dose of medicine. This log is really useful if you access medical care to see if there is a pattern. 5 days of fever can sometimes be a tipping point to seeing a doctor but obviously it depends on each child. I hope they feel better soon.
