Rash on DS

pittameinhummus · 02/01/2022 18:25

DS is covered in a red rash head to toe, some areas more angry than others, including his cheeks and neck, he has been unwell the past few days and the rash appeared overnight, I spoke to 111 this morning who arranged a telephone consultation with a local pharmacist but they were not overly helpful and no one has seen pictures, any ones dc experienced a similar rash? I can't upload pictures as I am a new user

Can you upload pictures?

It won't let me as I just joined! He's had slapped cheek/scarlet fever before but this looks different, it's everywhere even the soles of his feet, he's also had cold symptoms and body aches, sensitivity to light ect

pitta not wanting to alarm you, but a rash, muscle/joint pains and sensitivity to light could be signs of meningitis - this link has more info and tells you how to do the "glass test" www.nhs.uk/conditions/meningitis/symptoms/

If you are in any doubt I would advise getting urgent advice just in case - that link advises calling 999 if the rash does not fade with the glass test - and please tell them all the symptoms you've noted. I hope it's something less serious, but better safe than sorry.
