14 year old - period stopped

My 14 year old had her first 2 periods in the Summer hols and none since. Is this normal? No underlying health issues, although she did put herself on a healthy eating plan a few months ago. There is no obvious weight loss to explain this? When does this become something I need to discuss with a dr?

This happened with my 10/11 year old. I researched and discovered that it can take 12 months for the body to get into a pattern. The info I read implied that we should only worry if it went on for more than a year. After a few months her period returned and its been regular ever since

Yes, it can take a while for periods to get regular.
However, when a friend discovered her 13-year old DD was not using her usual tampons etc she eventually found that she was using a Hey Girls menstrual cup and had not thought to mention it!
Her DD really liked the menstrual cup and found it was really easy to use and perfect for swimming and travel.
Mum is a keen cup user now!
