Motion sickness

We've spent most of the day travelling in cars, buses and an aeroplane. My DD (7) started feeling unwell just after pub tea at the airport, and by the time we arrived 2 hours later was complaining of a very hurty tummy. I assumed wind as she is prone to, and put to bed after encouraging it out with a bit of massage. However, 45 minutes later she was quite sick for about half an hour, with tummy pains and nausea. Put to bed again and was fine, until she turned over in her sleep and was sick again. Is this motion sickness, and if so how long does it last?! She's never been actual sick before from traveling, but does frequently say her tummy hurts on car journeys if she plays with her brother too much.

I used to suffer horribly from motion sickness as a child.
To be honest if she’s not frequently motion sick, I’d be considering this is something else.
When I was sick it would usually clear up reasonably quickly after not being in motion any more (the exception being a ferry, where it takes a little longer to get your land legs back).
So, based on my experience I guess it’s faintly possible it’s motion sickness but I would be assuming something else is more likely.

My eldest gets travel sick but it is always when travelling not afterwards. Like the car would have set him off and he wouldn't have stopped until the whole journey was done unless I'd medicated him before hand. Never known him not be sick whilst travelling and only afterwards. His also started when he was around 3 so much earlier than 7. Maybe she just has a bug?

Yes, DD gets travel sick, when not medicated, but it always stops within 10 min or so of arriving at our destination
So another vote for “tummy bug” (sorry). I hope she’s feeling better this morning Flowers

Thanks, she seems ok this morning, says tummy is fine but she's really tired (understandably, having not gone to sleep till 1am). Not tried getting up for breakfast yet though!
