Blood in 4 year olds stool

Hi,
I am going to phone the doctor in the morning, but am in a bit of a panic after seeing blood in my 4 year old sons stool tonight. He has also been quite tired recently although he sleeps well 7.30-7ish (I put tirednesd down to starting preschool in September) and has been complaining that his arms and legs are hurting.
Anyone's child had similar? I've done what you should never do, and googled, which is bringing up leukaemia and scaring me to death. Just hoping the doctor will speak to me tomorrow and not make me wait weeks for a phonecall.
Thanks x

Definitely the right thing to push for a gp appointment. Ask them to do a stool sample or urgent referral to paediatrics. Google always brings doom when there can be simple reasons but definitely a symptom that needs looking into.

My son has had blood a couple of times. Once was quite shocking. But I'm sure it was just from being a bit constipated and tearing as it came out. Just a thought.

My DS - also 4 - has bloody stool and other concerning symptoms. We had bloods and an ultrasound reasonably quickly and are now being treated for dietary allergies. I'm still not sure we've got to the bottom of it yet, but posting in solidarity with a handhold. Sending lots of good wishes to you and your boy.
