Appointment for increase in baby head circumference

Hi,

I’m wondering if anyone has any experience of this and can shed any light or provide some reassurance!

My DS had his 1 year review yesterday (he’s 10.5 months) and the HV took all his measurements. He’s around the 50th centile for weight and height, but the HV said that I should get him checked by a GO for his head measurement as it was on the 9th when he was born and it’s now almost the 75th.

I don’t feel like its likely to be anything that’s wrong with him and I’m sure there’s an explanation but any ideas what they could be looking for? I have an appointment on Thursday.

My friend had this and there was nothing wrong in the end. They had the child scanned but both parents had massive heads so it was not really surprising.

Worth getting checked though just in case.
