Ds 3year old has been clingy, blocked nose, waking lots in night, temp red face but on one side and now has a rash.

Have been for PCR this morning but what would you say?

My 12 month old had identical symptoms 2 weeks ago. Negative PCR - classic slapped cheek. Hope your DS feels better soon.

Thanks @Foreverbaffled forgot to say he won't eat. Was your DC same? Howling did it last?

@lancslass17 Yes all he wanted to do was breastfeed and was totally off solids! We had about a week of horrible symptoms and even two weeks later he has a chesty cough but is essentially fine now.

I think my DD (13 months) may have this but I couldn't tell from the NHS page. She has had a negative PCR but a snotty nose and bad cough for about five days now, plus a hot red cheek and ear that changes side. Does it sound similar? I thought it could also be teething.

I was convinced DC has covid (me and OH both positive) but now wondering if it’s slap cheek. Awaiting PCR but so difficult to get a decent swab.

Temperature comes and goes but tends to get worse through the day. Very snotty. Eaten a bit more today but off food for a few days. No cough. Red cheeks but they come and go too. Slight rash on one cheek.

Also temp always seems to be about 1 degree higher in one ear than the other!

My dd just had this. Loads of slap cheek going around atm by the look of it

LumosSolem · 22/12/2021 23:55

Stupid question but is 9 too old for slapped cheek? I should be better at this stuff by now!

Some of these symptoms sound a lot like my DD, also had a negative PCR.
