Rotavirus?

Ds is 12 weeks and had the rotavirus vaccine on wednesday. Yesterday I had a bad episode of diarrhea. Just the once. I'm now wondering if I could have picked it up from DS' nappies and am kicking myself. I did wash my hands after every nappy change but perhaps not well enough then...

Could it be rotavirus if I was ill just the once though? No stomach cramps, no feeling sick, been eating normally. Also read that rotavirus stools have a horrible smell and mine didn't so maybe there is hope?

If it was, clearly im ok, but I'm now worried I've passed it on to my older DS as I've been preparing his lunch etc. We are due to stay with family in a few days and with my health anxiety I have visions of him being sick and then passing it on to everyone there.

Any experience? Is it just a coincidence and I'm being paranoid?

Ds1 is 3.5 years old and did have the vaccine as a baby too but not sure the effect would last that long?

Are you generally anxious? Just sounds like a coincidence.

My brother picked up a mild case from his daughter after she had the vaccine. He has a slight tendency to stomach issues so I think he was probably just a bit more vulnerable. It was very short lived though.

@itwasntaparty, yes just started CBY for anxiety and sickness bugs are my worst hence my posting for perspective.

@mynameiscalypso, thank you hopefully if it is its bad luck for me and would need really really bad luck and unlikely for DS1 to catch it too especially as with my anxiety I have been so diligent about handfasting especially before preparing food

He didn't pass it on to anyone (and I doubt he's diligent about hand washing!) and it was very self-limiting. I'm absolutely sure your DS will be fine but I appreciate that it's difficult with anxiety and that me saying that doesn't necessarily help.

CBT handwashing

Thank you so much @mynameiscalypso it really does help so much, just the sort of success story I need to hear. I've been so paranoid about not catching anything this week as I haven't seen my family for 2 years and so worried we won't be able to this Christmas again. I'd really be kicking myself if it was because of something I could have so easily prevented:(
