She woke up this morning perfectly normal. Suddenly at 12:30 she said I’ve got a sore head. We were getting ready for a Christmas party and she said I can’t I need to lie down. She lay on the couch and at 1pm started crying shouting “my head my head”. She refuses calpol usually but was asking for medicine.

She fell asleep at 1:30 and I took her temperature and it was 39. She woke up and just keeps crying “my head my head” and asking for more medicine despite never being able to take calpol as she hates the taste.

She is just lying on the couch, very warm and intermittently saying her heads sore and she’s sick.

I’ve never seen her like this before and it came on so suddenly it’s making me worried but I don’t know if I should be or if it’s just a virus. She took a Lateral flow test it was negative.

Call 111 and ask for advice

She is 5 years old. She’s been incredibly excited for her Christmas party which makes me so sad as she’s not able to go but she doesn’t mind as she’s in pain. Usually she would be devastated. She has her party dress on too 😔

Sounds very concerning for a 5 year old to have such a bad headache . I would definitely get in touch with a professional
Hope she feels better soon

minipie · 11/12/2021 15:02

I would call 111 I hope she feels better soon

I hope you have managed to get some professional advice. I would be concerned about it coming on so suddenly….. and then being sick and a temperature added in to the mix. I hope everything is ok.

bloodywhitecat · 11/12/2021 18:05

That sounds quite concerning, I would be seeking advice or heading to A&E.

MamaBearThius · 11/12/2021 18:08

A&E is where I'd be heading to. Fever and headache is a red flag. Can she touch her chest with her chin?

DontPeeInThePlayHouse · 11/12/2021 18:10

I hope she's been seen and it's nothing too worrying. Please let us know how she's getting on when you have a chance. Hope she feels better soon.

How is your little one doing ?Flowers

User9911 · 14/12/2021 06:56

She’s ok now thanks. The dr thinks it is viral. She was bad for 1 day but slept most of it. The next day a lot better. Now she’s back to normal, thankfully.
