7 week old cold and cough

My little one is 7 weeks old and has unfortunately caught my cold that I tried so hard not to give him! His temperature seems ok but he is making a raspy noise at times and had a cough, which initially sounded like he was clearing his throat, and now sounds a bit dry. He’s feeding slightly less, but has lots of wet nappies and sleeping well. As he’s so young should I be seeing a doctor at this stage?

Hi OP, I would definitely run it past a GP given their age. They usually don't take chances with little babies so young and there are a lot of respiratory viruses around.

Yes, we had the same recently at 7 weeks. Everything fine but it was diagnosed as rsv/bronchiolitis and they sent him from GP to hospital for a proper check.

They are so on the front foot and relaxed rules about very young babies that it should be very straightforward. Always worth a ring.
