How to soothe a cough

WJM2020 · 05/12/2021 11:58

1 yr old DS has the most horrendous hacking cough. It's like it's coming from the pit of his feet!
Not really eating as much as normal as well as having 4 teeth (two of them molars 😬)
Not covid (thankfully) and no temp either.
He has been coughing none stop. He can't nap properly or sleep properly as it's keeping him awake.
He is a happy chap so other than the cough and lack of appetite he is perfectly fine.
Any ideas how to soothe his cough?
Just feel really sorry for him 😞

Hi @WJM2020, we're just bumping this one for you in the hope that someone will be able to help.

Hope your DS gets better soon. Flowers

Mad as it sounds but this absolutely works - liberally spread Vicks Vapo rub onto the soles of his feet and put some socks over the top.

Cool mist humidifier, get one that you can add essential oils to and whack in the infant olbas oil. Works wonders and far cheaper in the long run than the Calpol or vicks plug in thingys

Thanks ladies. We ended up at the GP as it just got worse. Turns out he's got a horrid chest infection poor dude. So we have some magic antibiotics now
