Is this HF& M or something else??

DS (3) has been poorly for a couple of days with a temperature, runny nose and cough. I wasn't worried as his temperature responds to paracetamol and although he was a bit off his food yesterday he's eating and drinking normally today, playing normally and seems happy enough. But a couple of hours ago I noticed he's come out in a rash, it only on his hands and feet and there are a few spots just under his mouth. One of the spots under his mouth has crusted a bit like a cold sore. Could this be HF&M? I thought so initially because of where it is but it doesn't look like the pictures on the NHS website. Should I give the GP a call tomorrow morning? I assume they won't see him if his temp is still up and down due to covid.

Hi OP, just bumping this one for you in the hope that someone will be able to help.

I would say it looks like the start of hand foot and mouth. My twins have just had it for the second time. Hope he feels better soon x

Yep. Either that or a viral rash.

When my little girl had covid, her hands and feet looked exactly like that

It turned out to be Hand Foot and Mouth. The day after these pictures were taken the rash turned into the typical red blisters on his hands and feet. We've all had negative PCR tests. DS is fine now but has passed it onto me. I feel like death (sore throat, headache, fever) but so far only have spots in my mouth and throat.

Poor you it's meant to be much worse in adults than kids. Hope you feel better soon.
