It looks like an allergy to me or a reaction to heat. I have no medical training, but plenty of allergies.
Does he have a temperature? Because I think most childhood illnesses cause a high temperature.

BobbinTheRobin · 29/11/2021 19:26

I would call your gp in the morning and ask if a doctor can take a look. Mine are looking at photos and doing phone consultations before deciding whether they need to see people in person.

WhoUsedMyName · 29/11/2021 19:27

Temp on & off not really a change in anything to be allergic to, other dc have had chicken pox years ago but weren't like this so I'm guessing not

@BobbinTheRobin yeah I think I will have to 🤦🏼‍♀️

WhoUsedMyName · 29/11/2021 19:37

Maybe roseola?

Assuming it blanches another option is molluscum contagiosum, very contagious and has small pus filled spots.

JudyJudyJudyDench · 29/11/2021 19:41

Is it just on the trunk and hips/thighs?
Does it flow in sort of lines? My son had similar and it was shingles

LtGreggs · 29/11/2021 19:42

Hmmm I'd say chickenpox still a contender. Has he had a runny nose? Both of mine started off with a running nose but not otherwise unwell - and then the spots came.

3luckystars · 29/11/2021 19:43

Have you had a look at their throat?

One of my children used to get a rash like that with tonsillitis.

Definitely check with the gp. All the best.

WhoUsedMyName · 29/11/2021 19:48

Thanks everyone for your replies.
Not molluscum have sadly had the joys of that with older dc years ago😩
Has been run down runny nose and cough, havnt checked his throat now he has teeth 🤦🏼‍♀️lol.
Whole body is covered groin and bum deffo the worst part and blood shot eyes slightly in both.

I think chicken pox.
I really do.

I have a fair few children so seen them a few times.

Obviously I'm not a dr but if not it looks very similar.

Hope he feels better.

WhoUsedMyName · 29/11/2021 19:58

@Helpimfalling do you?
Thank you I guess I'll tell in the morning. Hopefully doesn't get to much worse

My son had a rough case of hand foot and mouth and this is what his rash looked like

ponkydonkey · 29/11/2021 20:11

Post viral rash

or check with a glass
If you press it and it doesn't stop being red A&E

WhoUsedMyName · 29/11/2021 20:12

Goes away with glass. He's had hand foot and mouth not long ago 🤔

OP posts:
Hannahthepink · 29/11/2021 20:14

I'd say hand foot and mouth if it's worst on his bum and groin, as it usually starts as a spotty rash there before the classic hand, feet, mouth blisters.

Helpimfalling · 29/11/2021 20:23

I really would be shocked if it wasn't.

I have four children and have just looked back through photos and ones on the feet seem similar.

My daughter had them all over her toes.

Also roseola is very similar

Vicky1989x · 29/11/2021 22:35

My friends baby had a similar rash along with bloodshot eyes - it was Kawasaki disease. Not saying it’s that but I’d get him checked out to be safe!

Benjaminsniddlegrass · 29/11/2021 22:54

Obviously get checked out by GP tomorrow but my daughter often gets a similar rash to this during/after a virus - it's like her bodies of working it out of her system

PanettoneSeason · 29/11/2021 22:58

@WhoUsedMyName My DS looked very similar when he had Hand, Foot & Mouth. Bum/groin/thighs were definitely worse on him than his hands and feet. Hopefully you get to the bottom of it soon 🤞🏼 I agree with PP - see if you can send some picture to your GP tomorrow!

WhoUsedMyName · 30/11/2021 11:20

Completely changed today I'm going chicken pox.
