Toddler reflux

Please can I ask your advice? DD2 (26mo) has had silent reflux since birth, and been on infant gaviscon since 12mo. She's lactose intolerant, plus oats/soya sensitive as well.

Pre-gaviscon she had a constant, very distinctive cough and recurrant respiratory infections, gaviscon cured everything, but GP unwilling to prescribe continuously without 2nd opinion.

We finally had a paediatrician appointment this week and I feel all my concerns were just dismissed - told there was no link to respiratory infections and her temper was due to her being a toddler rather than in pain. We've been told to ditch the bottles (only 2 a day and the only way to get gaviscon into her), ditch the gaviscon and wait for her to grow out of it.

She's now coughing relentlessly again after 3 days, up through the night, and I'm waiting for the cycle of respiratory infections/high temps/nursery requiring covid tests to start again.

It took 3 months for this appointment to come round. Am I being too precious 2nd born to want to push for further analysis? I'd consider going private if it would get her some further assessment, but I'm not sure if I'm being overly precious...
