Umbilical cord - help

My daughter is 8 days old
Her umbilical cord bled a bit yday but we aired it and it dried out and seemed fine

Now it looks like it’s hanging off but it is yellow underneath. It doesn’t smell as yet but does look a bit wet

Currently waiting for 111 to answer
Does this look infected? What will docs do?

Are you still under midwife care? They could be quicker to speak to than 111 but I guess it’s weekend now I think. I think the pic looks ok and can’t see the yellow you are describing, but you’re always better to get teeny ones checked if you are concerned. Good luck.

No it's not infected. It's perfectly normal. Looks like it's ready to drop off.

My DDs got infected - smelt vile. GP just gave me some powder to sprinkle on it -presume it was antibiotic, but in my post-birth fog, I'm afraid I'm really not sure!
