Can enlarged tonsils affect eating?

Hi everyone. I'm looking for some advice please. My 3 year old dd has always been a great eater. For the last week she has been complaining about a sore mouth/sore throat. She's been to the dentist, gp twice and A&E to rule out something being stuck in or around her throat. Mouth and throat look fine and no infection. However a gp mentioned enlarged tonsils. She is only eating smooth foods at the moment and won't attempt to eat anything solid or textured. She complains of pain when swallowing anything solid. She also has a stuffy nose and snores so I suspect she has swollen or large adenoids too. GP said swollen tonsils don't usually affect eating. Does anyone have any experience of this? Can enlarged tonsils affect eating? I'm so worried about her and with the absence of any infection no one seems to know what's causing it. Many thanks!
