Health anxiety by proxy for DS

Afternoon,

This is my first message on here after being a long time lurker.

I am a parent of 2 and have horrendous health anxiety.

I am constantly worried about every finite bug or sniffle my children have, in particular the youngest.

He goes to nursery and it just feels like ever since lockdown he has had every illness going.

One week to the next it's either a temperature, stomach bug, cold, cough , v+d.

Does anybody else have this experience ? I have a thermometer and oximeter and try and refrain from using as much as possible as I don't want to pass on my anxiety but it's just so tormenting.

The youngest is 3 years old for context.

Hey you are not alone! I’m the same, last week was on the phone to the doctor worried my son had some underlying condition as his temp has been up most days for months. She told me to put the thermometer away! It’s so difficult isn’t it but it’s good you realise you have the anxiety, maybe talk to you doctor x

Yep, definitely need to put the thermometer away.

Trying to change my ways.

Not easy is it but reassuring to know I'm not alone, although sorry to hear you're going through it too. It really can be cruel

It’s awful sometimes I get myself in such a state!
