Have you had this prescribed for your child? If so, did you see side effects and how quickly/slowly did the side effects show up?

We're on night 5. Haven't spotted anything specific yet (she's 4 and obviously prone to random rage) but obviously worried about what I'd read.

DS has had it a few times and we never noticed any side effects. Only took it for fairly short periods though (a few weeks to a month). It works best on allergy triggered asthma, so when DS suffers with hay-fever we add it in and when the season passes we stop.

Thank you. My daughter has multiple food allergies but suffers every winter due to repeat viruses that upset her asthma, so I think the plan is to be on it over winter and come off in the spring and see how that works out

I take this myself when my asthma is bad (usually during the hayfever season but I also started taking it this autumn when covid triggered my asthma). I find it works really well for me. I have vivid dreams for the first few nights after I start taking it but then they settle down. I haven't noticed any other side effects. I hope that helps.

Ds takes it - any side effects relating to mood would appear relatively quickly said asthma nurse. Been a game changer for him.

My daughter has been on it for about six years. It was a total game changer for her asthma for us.

It's a long time since we tried it but had to stop as my boy was having really bad dreams. Not sure how long after starting the medication- sorry x

My ds was put on this around end of September he’s 7 have had no side effects but not sure it’s really helped either although a bad chest infection that usually would have seen him admitted to hospital he managed to stay at home for so maybe it is helping. I was very worried about side effects after reading up about but can honestly say I’ve seen none.
