Could this be hand foot and mouth?

I noticed these little red spots on my 2 year olds bum at the start of the week and thought initially he'd grazed himself at nursery. They're still there and he also has a few red bumps on one of his arms. It's not itchy or bothering him and he's absolutely fine though he did have a fever of 38.2 on tues before bed and I gave him some calpol. Im due to see a friend with a newborn in the morning and now having been Googling (why did I do that!) am worried this could be hand, foot and mouth. Any advice welcome.

If he doesn't have any around his mouth though? Do I need to keep him home from nursery and away from other children if it is? He's had it since Monday and been at nursery all week 😬

Weirdly it is contagious but he can still go to nursery - they can't say to keep him away and have to allow him to go- unless he has a temperature - my boy didn't have a temperature so still went to nursery - however I kept him home for when he was going to go to the childminders as she normally takes them out on mini trips so didn't want him out and about.
Nursery told me it was hand foot and mouth as it was going around - doctors wouldn't do anything :) x
