Tic/habit?

Could this be a tic or habit?
7 year old DD keeps taking loud gasping breaths when watching tv or otherwise relaxing.
I've asked her if it hurts to breathe etc and she says no.
She's very active, does sports 5 times a week and no history of asthma etc.
Any idea?

I would try and completely ignore. My dd did something similar at the same age and when I ignored it, it went… prior to that I’d been looking over/reacting in some small way and I found that inadvertently made it worse. I would make a conscious effort to visibly ignore it and I bet it’ll go in a week or so…

I have started totally ignoring it.
It's very irritating when you're watching a film and she's sighing every 30 seconds!
Hopefully it will run it's course!!!
