Spot or cold sore on newborn?

DS2 is 3 weeks old. I might be paranoid but a small blister type spot has sprung up near his mouth on the left.

Worst case is cold sore. No one he has been in contact with has one and he seems fine i himself apart from an ongoing gunky eye. Have uploaded a pic - thoughts?

It could be a wee milk spot. Call your midwife and send her the pic if you're worried.

Looks like a spot to me. Guess you could as the health visitor if you're worried. Mine have a text chat which is generally pretty responsive for simple advice.

Don't fret. That looks like a milk spot or baby acne and nothing like a cold sore

Thanks all. He does have milk spots but they don’t have a red base like this, one I think it’s probably just some baby acne my first had that too.

Mine had that. It turns out she was sucking too hard causing the blister.
