Both dc have had a cold. Both covid negative!

DD's lasted 3 days which is typical of her. Bounced back quick.

Ds is a different story. This isn't new. It's been going on for years. Every time he gets a cold, it'll linger for over a week - congestion, coughing etc. I'm not sure if it's still the infection or the lingering after effects if that makes sense!

Pre covid times I wouldn't think much of it but you get the evils when he's coughing in public. I wouldn't take him out when he's coughing non stop or clearly poorly as don't want to pass it on but his cough can last for weeks and weeks! Mornings, evenings and night times are the worst.

After a cold, he'll cough after running around etc!

He doesn't cough otherwise. Thankfully he doesn't get a cold more then once a year.

I hope that he doesn't catch covid. I think it would really affect him 😪

To add, I've always wondered if it's because we used to live in a very damp flat when he was little and it's affected him long term. Dd has never lived in the flat and our current house is not damp at all.

Yes - my DD (3). She’ll cough for weeks and is often sick from coughing. She’s not ‘unwell’ when she gets her colds and coughs and is her usual happy self. No obvious cause. She’s been checked over in hospital too when she’s had one and they couldn’t find anything significant. I hope she grows out of it soon - not sure how much longer I can tolerate the evil looks when we’re out and she’s coughing.
