Couple of spots on her legs, torso/back is fine

Nappy area is very bad - I’ve included a close up so not obviously a bottom.

Watching with interest as I'm now wondering the same for DD- HFM or Cpox

saltontoast · 20/10/2021 17:21

Following as I have two young kids who haven't had chicken pox yet

Spottybotty20 · 20/10/2021 17:24

It’s so hard to know, my husband hasn’t had it so we need to know so that we can keep an eye on him for symptoms. He finally had an appointment for the vaccine last week but it was cancelled last min so will be just his luck!

Chicken pox is a vesicular rash - distinct spots which turn into blisters then into scabs. I’m not a medical professional but based on my experience of chicken pox that doesn’t look like the right sort of spots.

I'd say probably not from my experience. Usually starts on neck/torso and they sort of look like a drop of water on the skin to start.

The bottom photo I would say definitely not.

Following as my DS has similar spots on his legs.

I'm thinking it may be HFM, but it's so difficult to say as there's so much going round at the minute?

Have you spoken with the GP?

Badabingbadabum · 20/10/2021 20:27

Not hfm. That is on the parts of the body the name suggests and do not look as 'spotty'. Could it be some sort of sweat rash?

Squashpocket · 20/10/2021 20:49

My sons hfm looked exactly like this. Started on the back of legs, back, shoulders. None on hands feet or mouth ironically.

Spottybotty20 · 20/10/2021 20:56

@yaboreme forms photos and a phone call GP says eczema, it’s not sitting right with me. He’s given me hydrocortisone and myribase gel.

So my niece also has spots and they were together Saturday & Sunday. Lots more on legs/bum and a few on hands/wrists. I’m thinking more hand foot and mouth now.

My older sons nursery has had a few confirmed cases and he was unwell with a temp over the weekend but no spots on him!
