Hello,

My baby is 4 months old and I’ve recently noticed she will almost shudder/shiver on waking - not every time but I’ve noticed a couple times now. I have been to GP with a video who isn’t too worried at the time but she has referred us for further assessment.

any advice or if anyone else has been through the same - please let me know. X

My DS used to do this when he was having a wee. Still occasionally does it now (he's 4). I'm not sure why. Hope the GP assessment referral is helpful for you.

Have you looked into infantile spasms OP?

Thank you, yes I have / this was my first big worry.

The paediatric team seem to think it’s sleep myoclonus from video's shown and not to worry.

I found this out late afternoon today..

I spoke to the Dr about this when my DD was younger, he said it could be due to low blood sugar if she'd been napping for a while & needed some milk. She seems to have grown out of it now luckily

My son does this (11w). Was just wondering if all is ok? Terrified about IS

Hey, I wanted to reply as I remember being so worried at the time too. My daughter grew out of it, she just stopped doing it after a few months - I had a couple of videos I took of her doing it and I went to the GP. They referred me to the hospital for a consultation with the specialist person there (I think more for my reassurance as I was so worried) - they weren't worried at all. So I would advise best to do the same? I'm sure all is fine though, sending hugs. X
