Toddler tum or bloated?

My two year old has lost weight recently due to a lot of viral infections. Since this has happened his tummy seems to have increased in size. I'm unsure if he is bloated or it's a normal toddler tum? How do you know the difference? I've attached a picture Thank you in advance .

Could he be constipated?

@Rainallnight

Could he be constipated?
I thought this too, but wasn't sure. He opens his bowels daily sometimes twice. His stool is always hard though and he does occasionally strain.

Might be worth popping to the GP. My son (same age) had this a few months ago, loss of weight after repeated infections and a bloated Tummy. Turned out to be Coeliac Disease. He's now gluten free and thriving.

And his stools were like that. It was like he was giving birth poor kid.

Kids can be pooing and still be constipated and have a backlog of poo (an impaction) in their colon. I’d ask GP to look at this very carefully and read up on constipation on the Eric website before you go.

Let us know how you get on?

Hi there,
I know this is an old post but...
Did you ever find out the cause of the bloat?
