Child nasal flu spray fever

Greentomatoes21 · 19/10/2021 19:33

My five year old daughter got the nasal flu spray yesterday at school. This afternoon (so approx 24h later) she started to feel a bit feverish. The leaflet in her school bag says it is a common side effect. Did anyone else's children experience this? If so how long did it last? (Not asking if it could be covid - will PCR).

When my daughter (then 4) had it last time she got a fever the following night, lasted about 12 hours then she was fine. She tends to get a fever after most vaccines

Thank you so much for responding. My daughter would be prone to temperatures when she is fighting something so not unusual to get a fever after vaccine. However she has always been OK with flu jabs so this has taken me by surprise!

How has she been today?

We kept her off school as she was pretty tired this morning. She has had a very low grade temp, 37.1, I know some doctors would consider this almost normal but it's def not normal for her. She went to sleep very quickly at bedtime tonight but has been cool since then. Hope we're out of the woods. Very textbook timing if associated with vaccine. Thanks for asking! 🙂
