One year old DD has thrush

She's on amoxicillin for a chest infection and her bits are red raw. She's had white gunk, too. GP prescribed 2% clotrimazole. She's beside herself every nappy change. Anything I can do to make it better? She's in nursery tomorrow and going to ask them to change her more frequently. I'm putting the canestan on every nappy change and just dabbing the area when wiping.

Oat baths followed by nappy free time (with lots of towels underneath that went straight on a hot wash after) used to help dc1, she had awful recurrent thrush until she was about 18 months old (I'd had it during pregnancy too).

You could just use oat water when wiping her after a nappy change too.

I'd keep her home, she sounds miserable the poor poppet

I hope your DD is feeling better now? If not you could try & give her some probiotics as the antibiotics mess up with the healthy bacteria found in the genitals. Hope this helps!

Hi! So I asked the GP for some timodine as I prescribe that in work. Cleared it up overnight! I've since started probiotics as well. Thanks for the help xx
