Preschool vaccinations- poorly DS

Has anyone else's toddler been poorly after the preschool boosters? Wondering if it's normal and when to worry.

Ds had them on Wednesday and the nurse said to expect no side effect and that we didn't even need to give calpol.

That night he woke burning hot with a temperature of 39. Since then he has been really fatigued, even fell asleep on his bedroom floor when I was getting him dressed one morning.

His face has been very pale since and he complains of a stomachache every morning. Today's he's lost his appetite, had soup for lunch and nothing since. Didn't want his dinner, not even his favourite pudding.

Can this be normal? I feel so bad for him.

He had a bit of a cold/ cough before he had them so not sure if that might have made it worse? He's also lost his voice from that virus :(

Did he have the MMR? It’s normal to get a fever 7ish days afterwards as that’s when the immune response kicks in hence no need for immediate Calpol. Unwell that night, cold symptoms and a stomach ache sounds like it’s probably something else which isn’t that surprising as there are loads of nasty bugs around at the moment. Don’t hesitate to seek medical advice if you’re worried and I hope he gets better soon.

Yes MMR and another one that covers 4 illnesses, diphtheria, whooping cough, polio and something else.

I did think it could be unrelated but it doesn't present like any other virus he's ever had but who knows.

I was so surprised they do so many at once, it would make sense for his immune system to be a bit overwhelmed. I want my happy bouncy boy back!

One of my DC was surprisingly unwell following those early boosters, but it lasted only about 24 hours.

Just sheer bad luck, I think.

Ring 111 for advice if he's not perking up soon

Thank you. The weird thing is it's very intermittent. If he had been this lethargic since I would have seen the GP but he's had moments of being perfectly fine in between. Then goes downhill again. Even from an hour to the next it changes. Very odd...
