Does this breathing look normal?

DS is 5 months old and I’ve noticed he’s been breathing faster lately. Spoke to a nurse who isn’t concerned as long as feeding ok and we’ll in himself. I just wondered if those with more experience could watch the videos below to see if it looks normal. Videos aren’t the best as he wriggles. His breathing is normal when asleep at around 40bpm then varies from 60-80 when awake. He had reflux but no congestion. Thank you

Hi, if it's something new I would ask for a second opinion definitely. And make sure they actually see him and watch the video.

My DS is 5 months old now but just a week after he was born I noticed he was breathing fast. I told the midwife who checked and agreed with me and sent us to a&e. I believe a babies breath's per minute should be between 40-60 and my sons has always been around 80 (the amount decreases with age though)

After seeing 3 different doctors before finding one that would actually take me seriously and not just brush me off as a neurotic first time mum they did some tests and it turns out he was born with a hole in his heart

I'm not saying this is going to be your out come I'm just saying that you as his mum have to trust your gut instinct and keep fighting to get it properly checked until you feel satisfied with the outcome

I wish you the best of luck I'm sure your boy is fine
